| PABCT Initiatives - MARCH 2010 |
|
Dear Colleagues,
The EABCT Board of Directors awarded PABCT a status of an ACCREDITED MEMBER of EABCT. This decision means that EABCT recognized the high standards of PABCT training program and allowed PABCT to evaluate clinical practice of trainers applying for EABCT Accreditation Certificate through PABCT. The information about a relevant application procedure will be available on our website soon. We would like to point out that at this time only three associations out of 35 regular institutional members of EABCT hold the Accredited Member status. These are the German Professional Association for Behavior Therapy, the Polish Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and the Greek Association for Behavioral Modification and Research.
The list of distinguished speakers at the conference includes the following outstanding and recognized researchers and clinicians of posttraumatic disorders and therapies, behavioral and cognitive therapies, and the evaluation of the effectiveness of therapies:: professors E. Foa, A.Ehlers, Y. Teichman, A. Arntz, J. Bisson, L.-G. Ost, J. Landowski, J. Samochowiec, G. Sędek, J. Strelau, B. Zawadzki. Plenary sessions, workshops, symposia and poster sessions are scheduled. The conference is organized by the Warsaw School of Sciences and Humanities, the Interdisciplinary Center for Behavior Genetic Research at University of Warsaw and the PABCT. More info and registration www.ptsd.waw.pl We would like to encourage you to actively participate in the conference. The deadline for submitting presentations and the topics for symposia and workshops is April 1, 2010. The deadline for submitting posters is May 15, 2010. The language of regular session presentations and posters is English, whereas the workshops can be conducted in Polish or English. For those leading workshops, we offer the maximum conference fee discount. We warmly invite you to join us at the conference. Please forward the information about the conference to anyone interested, including non-members.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all therapists who received our certificates. Since the beginning of 2010, we have certified 25 more professionals, and the PABCT now has a total of 225 certified therapists. As the Association functions to support cognitive-behavioral therapists through continuing education, we strongly encourage all therapists to submit themselves to supervision by certified supervisors or therapists training in supervision, and/or to organize peer supervision. Contact information for recommended supervisors and therapists that are training in supervision is available on www.pttpb.pl. Go to the section “About PABCT” and then click on the “Supervisors and Educators” tab. With kind regards, The Board of Directors |
