PABCT Initiatives - January

Dear Colleauges,

We would like to share some important information concerning the initiatives and activities of the PABCT at the beginning of 2010.

NFZ (National Health Fund) finally to recognize credentials for the PABCT licensed psychotherapists and supervisors!!!

nfz

It is with great pleasure that we received news from the National Health Fund to endorsing credentials for PABCT licensed therapists and supervisors, recognition for which we have been striving for the past few years. In response to an official PABCT petition dated December 3, 2009, we received a letter from a NFZ VP of Medicine, Mr. Maciej Dworski on December 31, 2009. The most relevant part of this letter reads as follows:

„ …Under the provisions of the Executive Regulation No 60/2009/DSOZ of the Director of NFZ from November 2, 2009, regarding the terms and conditions of psychiatric and addiction treatment, both a person granted a PABCT Certificate of Therapist and/or a person granted a PABCT Certificate of Supervisor meet the qualifications criteria for psychotherapists and   supervisors as specified by the aforementioned regulation.”

International Conference on "POSTTRAUMATIC DISORDERS - RISK FACTORS, CONCEPTS, THERAPY" to start in 169 days – time to register!

The Polish Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies is a co-organizer of the international scientific conference on posttraumatic disorders and will host the most outstanding and recognized clinicians and researchers of posttraumatic disorders, cognitive-behavioral therapies and the evaluation of the effectiveness of therapy. The conference will take place on July 2-4, 2010. More information is avalible from www.ptsd.waw.pl.

We warmly invite you to join us at the conference. Please feel free to forward the information about the conference to anyone interested, including non-members.

New membership dues

Based on a standing order of the Board of Directors of PABCT from January 8, 2010, the membership fee in 2010 is 90 PLN. We would like to kindly remind you that only members who are up-to-date with membership dues are eligible for reduced registration fees for the July Warsaw conference and the 40th EABCT Congress in Milan.

Finally…

At the end of 2009, the number of licensed cognitive-behavioral therapists amounted to 200. Congratulations to all new certified professionals!

As the Association functions to support cognitive-behavioral therapists through continuing education, we strongly encourage all therapists to submit themselves to supervision by certified supervisors or therapists training in supervision, and/or to organize peer supervision.

Best wished for the New Year,

The Board of Directors
